Thomas Henry Harkless was born to Lobis and Myrna Harkless in Henderson, Texas. He was baptized at the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Henderson. He attended and played football at Henderson Colored High School, his jersey number was 25. A running back.
In the early 60's Thomas moved to Houston where Thomas graduated high school. Then about a decade later moved to Los Angeles, CA where he became a member of Lynwood United Methodist Church.
Thomas was very hard working as he was employed by several companies in Texas and Souther California. On the days he was not working, card games and dominoes was a favorite pastime. His love for the Dallas Cowboys, for over sixty years was evident with a room in his house strictly dedicated to Cowboy artifacts.
On December 15, 2001, Thomas married Tracy in Coronado, CA. "Over and Out" was the was Thomas ended a conversation. He continually showered Tracy with special made flowers. They both loved to travel; South Dakota, Las Vegas, Texas, Missouri, The Bahamas, Hawaii, Mexico, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Zimbabwe and Dubai were some of the many places they visited.
Thomas is surrived by his loving wife Tracy Harkless, six children, two stepchildren, two sisters, one aunt, 19 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.
