Shirley Rogers

Shirley Rogers was born on March 22, 1951 and grew up in a country home in Bakersfield, California.  She was one of thirteen children, but was closest to her twin sister Tommie.  Married only once to David Tucker.  Shirley had her first child in 1969 in Ventura, California.  A daughter, who she named Michelle.  Michelle was followed by baby Angela who went to Heaven at eight days old.  Shirley also gave birth to two loving sons, Deon in 1973 and Tony in 1974. 

Shirley was most known for her strong spirit and close connection to Jesus.  Her faith and relationship with the Lord was an inspiration to her friends and family. Shirley will also be remembered for her humor and long conversations.  Her sage wisdom about life was always an asset to her family.  Shirley always had a very strong mental telepathic connection with her twin sister Tommie.  A God fearing and loving woman who loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and soul.  Shirley had a very special relationship with her sister Carlyon, they were a constant spirtual support for one another. 

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Michelle; sons, Deon and Tony; four grandchildren, Deon Jr., Brianna, Aaron and Bella; and one great grandson, Dijon.  Shirley will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her, but we take solace knowing she is now at peace in the Lord’s Kingdom.
