It is with a blend of sadness and reflection that we announce the passing of Russell Soriano Cabais, who left us on October 1, 2024, at the age of 52. Russell, affectionately known as Russ/Low Roller, was born to Angel and Liwayway Cabais on June 2, 1972, in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from San Diego State University and pursued Business Management .

Russell lived his life as a true free spirit, fully embracing each moment and pursuing his passions with a fervor that few could match. In 2008, Russell published a 299 page autobiography, “Life as a LOW-ROLLER” Pinching and stretching your pennies into DOLLARS. The true tell-all/how-to guide for the wanna-be low-roller. By definition a LOW-ROLLER is someone who likes to get value for their money. They don't mind spending, as long as they get a bargain or great deal. While Russell considered himself a “low roller,” his approach to life was anything but restrained. He was a man who prided himself on living life to the fullest. He sought thrills and excitement and was unafraid to follow his own path.

Russell’s zest for life was infectious. He had a unique ability to find joy in the simplest of moments, reminding us all of the beauty in spontaneity and adventure. For those who were fortunate enough to share in his journeys, his spirit will be remembered fondly.

Russell leaves behind a family who will cherish the memories they created together. His life has taught us about the importance of living authentically and pursuing our own happiness.

A memorial service will be held on October 17, 2024, to celebrate Russell’s life and the adventures he embraced. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to reflect on your own journey and consider what it means to truly live.
