Sis. Rosemary Harris was born on May 3, 1956 to Elnora Elizabeth and the late Delmas Ricardo Harris, in Liberty, North Carolina. Her father served in the military and the family moved to San Diego in 1965, where Sis. Harris grew up and received her education.
Rosemary participated in the Special Olympics in the late 60’s, attended local schools, including Hale Junior High and Clairemont High School. In later years, Sis. Harris confessed her belief in Jesus Christ and united with the Greater Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, as a young adult. She actively served faithfully in several auxiliaries. She loved her Church and her Pastor.
Sis. Harris received an Associate of Arts Degree in Child Care and worked at the YWCA on Orange Street, in the early 80’s. Sis. Harris later work at the Naval Commissary as a Stocker, for a short time. She enjoyed being a Cheer Mom/Coach for her daughter Casandra, during cheerleading years and raised many of her nieces and nephews. She recently traveled with friends to various, interesting places. Sis. Harris was a people-person and loved to talk…she also loved movies, the theatre and going to Church!
God called Sis. Harris home on Monday, January 19, 2021. She fought a good fight and served her Lord well. She leaves to celebrate her life, her mother, Elnora Harris of San Diego, CA; daughter, Casandra Rose Foster of Norman, OK; sister, Janet L. Harris of San Diego, CA; brother, Jimmy L. Marsh of North Carolina; sister, Shirrell D. Harris of Chicago, IL; brother Delmas R. Harris Jr. of San Diego, CA; sister, Anna E. Jordan (Raymond) of San Diego; brother, David K. Harris of San Diego, CA; brother, Michael M. Harris of Las Vegas, NV; Robin E. Sanford (Eric) of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Bruce L. Harris of San Diego, CA; Godson, Marquez Dean of San Diego, CA; aunt, Rosetta Reaves of Ashford, NC; and a host o f nephews, nieces, friends and Church Family members, who loved her dearly.
