It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rolando H. Valencia- husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Although he is no longer with us in this world, we celebrate his new life and home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rolando was born on June 18, 1942 in Zambales , Philippines. He joined the United States Military where he served his country for 21 years in the Navy. After retirement, he worked at the Imperial Beach Commissary for 10 years. Following his second retirement, he spent time as a babysitter and soccer grandpa for his youngest granddaughter for the next several years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rolando was a loving, strong, determined, hardworking, funny and cheerful individual. He served and loved The Lord. Rolando was an amazing cook who enjoyed cooking most and sharing his delectable dishes with family. He loved gardening, enjoyed fishing and especially eating seafood- he was so fond of eating crab.
Though he appeared to be serious he did have a sense of sarcastic humor. His laugh and smile will be missed by family and those who knew him.
Rolando is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Zenaida R. Valencia, daughter, Marilou R. Valencia, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Rolando will be missed beyond measure but will remain in our hearts forever. We look forward to seeing him again one day in heaven.
God Bless and rest in eternal peace and paradise Rolando/ Rollie/Lando/Dad/Papi/Kuyan. We love you forever!!
Our family appreciates all your kind words, thoughts, prayers and support, God Bless.
