Rodolfo E. Delicano

Rodolfo “Rudy” Elizaga Delicano, 79, of Babatngon Tacloban, Leyte,
Philippines, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at UC San
Diego Medical Center.
Rudy was born on September 1, 1942 to Victoria Elizaga and Cesario
Delicano in Babatngon Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines. In 1961, Rudy met
Villa Saladino Delicano in Olongapo City, Philippines. They married in
1963 in Olongapo City. Rudy and Villa went on to have two children,
Mildred Delicano Sabal and Rodolfo Delicano Junior, and eight
grandchildren, Ernestine Sabal, Rodnie Sabal, Ernesto Sabal III, Odrei
Tulio, Michael Tulio, Kyle Tulio, Rodolfo Tulio III, and Melarnie Tulio.
Rodolfo started his career in Saudi Arabia before joining the Merchant
Marines in Olongapo City, spending years traveling the world from
1980 until 1994. In 1994, Rudy moved to Yokosuka, Japan to help care
for his grandchildren and apprenticed as a chef and baker in the
O:cer’s Club until 2003. Rudy moved to San Diego, California in 2003
with his loving wife to work as a chef and baker at Country Hills and
Covenant Living at Mount Miguel. He retired in 2016 and spent his time
enjoying his favorite things. Rudy was known for his love of baking and
sharing his cooking with loved ones, tending to his luscious garden,
and Coca-Cola. He was a man of great faith and community, diligently
serving and attending Linda Vista United Methodist Church since 2006.
Rudy is predeceased by his parents Victoria and Cesario Delicano. He
is survived by his wife, Villa Delicano, children, Mildred (Ernesto Jr.)
Sabal and Rodolfo (Reina) Delicano, and grandchildren, Ernestine
Sabal, Rodnie (Toni) Sabal, Ernesto Sabal III, Odrei Tulio, Michael Tulio,
Kyle Tulio, Rodolfo Tulio III, and Melarnie Tulio. He is fully loved and
greatly missed by his family and friends
