Robert Amerson Obituary

Robert Earl Amerson was born at Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, California on August 21, 1953 to his loving parents Phillip and Hirmer Amerson. Robert quickly gained the reputation as the family clown when he was young, because he loved to make people laugh and constantly had everyone in stitches. Robert was not only blessed with humor, but humility. He had a sweet spirit and was always grateful and appreciative of any and everything you did for him.
He attended Lincoln High School, where he was part of the basketball team. Robert, a gentle giant at 6'7, towered over his classmates and was voted 'Mr. Tall' by his peers. Robert graduated from Lincoln High in 1972. It was there he met his high school sweetheart Audrey Burris.
Together, they made Tianne out of love in May 1973.
Robert briefly worked at 32nd St. as a janitor before he enlisted in the
U.S. Navy in June 1974 to proudly serve his country.
Robert was a man of few words, but his presence spoke volumes. He loved watching sports, like baseball, football and basketball, and enjoyed a good old fashioned Western, like 'Gunsmoke, 'Big Valley' and 'Bonanza.'
Robert peacefully passed away at his residence in San Diego at 71. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Hirmer Amerson; his high school sweetheart Audrey Warren; and nephew, Maurice White. Robert leaves behind four siblings; Ronald Amerson, Ralph Amerson, Sr. (Karen), Phyllis Hooker (Stephen) and Patricia Nealy, all of San Diego, his daughter Tianne Henderson (Phillip), his two grandchildren, Cydney Perry (Paul) and Paige Henderson, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends who mourn his passing, yet celebrate his life.
