Rich was a lifelong San Diegan born to Walter and Florence Lapiezo. He graduated from St. Augustine H.S and had a career as a pipe fitter. Rich was a talented woodworker. He skillfully created many pens, furniture, and other items that he crafted for friends and family. He was a talented bowler and in spite of having a prosthetic leg, had several 300 games and a high series of 834 to his credit.
Rich is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia. He was the #1 fan of her fantastic baking skills and especially enjoyed her carrot cake, apple pies, and chocolate chip cookies. He was often the proudest and loudest supporter at his grandchildren’s events.
He is also survived by his brother John, son Aaron, stepsons, Damon and Kyle Chase, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Butch, and sister Linda.
Rich will be greatly missed by his family, many nieces nephews, bowling buddies, and poker friends.
