Renita Norment Obituary
July 13, 1954 – February 15, 2025
With heavy hearts but unwavering faith in GOD,we celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved Renita Norment—a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Renita’s journey began on July 13, 1954, born to her loving mother, Hattie Ella Norment, and her late father, A.V. Phillips. She was a woman of deep faith who accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers, Michigan.
A dedicated student, Renita graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1973 and pursued higher education at Glen Oaks Community College, earning her Bachelor of Science degree. She was a hardworking and compassionate woman who served her community through her work at Health Trac in Three Rivers, Michigan. Her commitment to education and children extended beyond her own family, as she was an active member of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for Chicago Public Schools.
Above all, Renita’s greatest joy in life was being a mother. She was the embodiment of selfless love, and it was evident that her children were the light of her life. She leaves behind her beloved twin children: daughter, Sierra Dale-Norment Jones (son in-law, Dominic Anthony Jones), and son, Yansie Gean Norment. She was also a cherished grandmother to Adriana Dania Norment, Anaïs Dior Jones, and Ashton Xander Jones, who brought immense joy to her heart.
Renita will be forever remembered by her loving siblings: sisters Vivra Murphy, Jameson L. Norment, and Glennamzye "Pookie" Norment.
She is preceded in death by her father, A.V. Phillips, Lonnie V. Murphy, Dale G. Kilgore, Robin Norment Gordon Funches.
Renita’s life was a testament to kindness, faith, and unconditional love. Her warmth, wisdom, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Though she has left this world, her legacy of love and faith will remain forever.
“A mother’s love is so selfless, and Renita’s love knew no bounds. She will be missed beyond measure but will remain in our hearts always.”
