Paulita C. Reed, age 71, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Bonita, California. She was born on September 15, 1954, in Cuyabo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, to Felicidad Cabamongan and Pedro Cabaong.
Paulita earned her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Central Luzon State University. During her college years, she was a competitive swimmer, reflecting her discipline, strength, and determination. She later taught elementary school in the Philippines before relocating to the United States, where she built her professional career as a seamstress in the Las Vegas area casino industry for over 20 years, known for her skill, dedication, and strong work ethic.
In 1979, she married Curtis Reed, with whom she shared many years and raised a family. Paulita was a devoted mother to her son, Samarn, and a proud grandmother to Samantha, Kelea, and Curtis Andrew Reed, who were the joy of her life. She especially cherished helping raise her grandchildren and spending as much time with them as possible.
Paulita found joy in life’s simple pleasures—crocheting, cooking, raising her grandchildren, reading gossip columns, visiting casinos, and, above all, being surrounded by family. Her warmth, devotion, and quiet strength will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Samarn (Kellie) Reed; granddaughters Samantha (Will) Taylor and Kelea Reed; grandson Curtis Andrew Reed; sisters Tess (Dave) Rekow, Simeona May, and Angelina (Jessie) Ofrecio; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felicidad and Pedro Cabaong; her brother, Albert Cabaong; and her sister Linda Carino.
