Paulina Celebrado Gimeno, born on April 24, 1927, in Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, in San Diego, California, due to old age.
Paulina’s early years were spent in Hawaii, Maragondon, Cavite, and Davao City, Philippines, where she cultivated a deep love for family, culture, and community. She later married Crisanto Gimeno, Sr., with whom she built a close-knit family, raising eight children: Ricardo Gimeno, Crisanto Gimeno Jr, Nestor Gimeno, Nelia Reed, Sylvia Gimeno, Virgilio Gimeno, Lanie Resurreccion, and Alan Gimeno.
As the cherished matriarch of the Gimeno family, Paulina is fondly remembered for her steadfast love, dedication to her family, remarkable strength of character, nurturing spirit, and boundless generosity. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will continue to thrive in the hearts of the generations she helped nurture.
She was preceded in death by her parents Romegio Celebrado and Roberta Questas, her beloved husband Crisanto Gimeno, Sr., her siblings Elma Garcia, Gloria Aguilar, Felomena Santos, Marcelino Celebrado & Martin Celebrado. She leaves behind her siblings Barsilisa Lim, Milagros Follett, her 8 children, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will treasure her memory and the warmth she brought into their lives.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Michaels Catholic Church on July 30, 2024 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover the expenses of her passing.
Paulina’s absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those she touched.
