Ozella Smith, daughter and oldest child of the late Loyde Denson Smith and Hattie Mae Smith, was born on May 6, 1945 in Eastman Georgia. Ozella and her parents moved to Jacksonville, Florida around 1946. She was educated in the Jacksonville school system and graduated from New Stanton High School, class of 1963, with honors. Upon graduating from High School, she attended Edward Waters College, Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to her moving to San Diego, CA in 1973. Ozella obtained her Associate Degree at. San Diego City college. Then her Bachelor Degree at San Diego State University.
In addition to her parents, Loyde and Hattie Smith, Ozella was preceded in death by her son, Cary Stanton Hart; brothers, Lloyd Henry Smith and Johnny Otis Smith; half-sister, Ruby Clawson. She leaves to mourn but to forever cherish her precious memories, her son Carlton Carlos Hart, Sr.; daughter, Precious Smith; grandsons, Carlton Carlos Hart, Jr. and Carlos Carlton Hart; granddaughter, Carlington Hart all of San Diego, California. Brothers, David and Samuel (Denise) Smith; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Johnson, Carolyn (Michael) Jackson all of Jacksonville, Florida; half-sister, Ruth Roberts of Washington, DC. Devoted aunts, Lillie Trowsdell of San Diego, CA and Luci Smith of Miami, Florida. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
