Mildred Jean Austin

Mildred Jean Austin was born September 17, 1952, in Luling, Louisiana.
When Mildred was 3 years old, her family relocated to San Diego,
California. She attended Kennedy Elementary, Gompers Jr. High and
Lincoln high School. Mildred worked in housekeeping for many years at
major hotels throughout San Diego. She enjoyed fishing and she never
came home empty-handed. Mildred was a kind, gentle loving person
who loved everyone. She loved spending time with her family. Mildred
Jean Austin was called home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2025, at
her residence with family by her side. She is preceded in death by her
mother, Irene Island and stepfather, John Willie Island. She leaves to
cherish her loving memory: her one and only child, Tamasha Austin; 3
grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her partner, Vince Williams and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
