Michael Earle Cowan was born on March 28, 1957 to the late Agnus Cowan in Kansas City, Missouri. Mike had two younger siblings, Richard Cowan and Carla Butler. Around 1976, he moved to San Diego and had four children and one bonus child. Micah, Jessica, Chaunice, Levi and Charles.
After exploring different careers, Michael found his love for roofing and started his own company, Cowan Roofing. He then spent his time teaching his son Micah as well as many others how to do the job he loved and became well respected in the business. After spending about 30 plus years in the field, he retired and stayed respected by different realtors and peers around San Diego.
Dominos, Fight Night, Madden and watching his beloved Kansas City Chiefs were just some of the things he enjoyed doing with family and friends. He was a perfect Father, Son, PeePaw, Brother, Uncle, Friend and most importantly role model. He always expressed that “can’t” was never in his DNA and stood by that until the day God called him. He passed hand in hand with his son and daughter-in-law by his side. Mike will never be forgotten and always be loved and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Michael is survived by his son Micah Cowan II; his daughters Jessica Cowan and Chaunice Cowan; his bonus son Charles Stansil; and his grandchildren T’Kyla, as well as two others. He is preceded by his mom Agnus and his son Levi Cowan.
