Maria Amparo Caducoy
November 17, 1941 to February 7, 2020
Maria was born November 17, 1941 in Kingsville, Texas to parents Fernando and Delores Cortez. She married and had two sons Benjamin Clarin and David Clarin, lived in San Diego, California. Maria met her second husband Elias Caducoy they married November 13, 1967, lived in San Diego. They had first daughter Norma Fe Caducoy and son Norman Albert Caducoy (Tito).
Elias was in the Navy, the family lived at multi naval stations. San Diego, Ca Naval station, Kingsville Texas Naval Station, Norfork, Virginia Naval station and Algers, Louisiana Naval station. Maria love being wife and living the Navy life, She met so many families as they lived and traveled . Many of her friends become our extended family.
Maria work at Pic-n-Save for thirteen years as a store clerk. She also work at Costco as a demonstrator.
Maria and Elias enjoyed spending time on the weekends at the multi Casinos her in San Diego. Always enjoying family during the holidays, she would cook her wonderful pancit. Her favorite place to eat was at Curto Milpas, she loved the rice, beans and tamale bowl.
She enjoyed traveling to Texas to see her family. She enjoyed spending all night talking and laughing with her sisters. She loved her nieces and nephews and their children. Her siblings were Willie Cortez+ of Denver, Colorado. Eugenia Silguero+ of Kingsville, Texas. Fernando Cortez of El Paso, Texas. Edurado Cortez+ of Houston,Texas. Rosa Alvarez+ of New Braunfels, Texas. Delores Martinez of Houston, Texas. Diana Cortez of Kingsville, Texas. Albert Cortez of Kingsville, Texas. Hector Cortez of Kingsville, Texas. Antonia Suarez of Kingsville, Texas.
Maria was a wonderful mother, she love her children very much. Making holidays very special, baking cookies, decorating and spending time with her children. She was the greatest cheerleader for sports, drill team, hula and other activities. She took great care and gave her all for her children.
Maria had one grandchild Nalani,she took great care of her. The best Grandma, she raise Nalani up with lots of love. The two were the best of friends enjoying watching, I Lucy and John Wanye movies. Hairdo and makeup se ssions and wonderful cuddle time. Nalani was Maria’s light that keep her going. She wanted to see Nalani grow and become a loving kind person. She instill great values in her granddaughter Nalani.
Maria enjoyed time with her husband when he retired they would enjoy going to Navy Exchange, casino, shopping, going to chinese buffets and spending and spoiling Nalani. They enjoyed 46 years together before Elias passed in 2014.
Maria was called to heaven on February 7, 2020, She was surrounded by her family at her bedside. She was survived by her children, Benjamin Clarin of Cooks, South Dakota, David Clarin and daughter inlaw Connie Clarin of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Norma Caducoy and grand daughter Nalani Echaves of San Diego, California, Norman Albert Caducoy (Tito) of San Diego, California,
My mother was a kind, beautiful and strong person. She had a great sense of humor, like to make you laugh. She loved her family and always wanted to make sure everyone was okay and safe. I will miss her smile, laugh and her kisses.
