Obituary

Marcia Mae Acey, maiden name Beach, was born on October 20, 1939, in Talbotton, to Jeff and
Eunice Beach. She peacefully entered eternal rest on February 19, 2026, in San Diego.

At the age of eight, Marcia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Fellowship Baptist
Church under the leadership of Rev. H.M. Alexander. From that day forward, her faith became
the cornerstone of her life.

She attended Collins Elementary School and graduated from Drake High School in Georgia. On
May 26, 1959, she married the love of her life, Milton Acey, in Thomaston, Georgia. Together
they built a strong foundation rooted in faith, love, and dedication to family.

In 1963, Marcia began working at Carter sewing baby clothes. As a military family, they were
stationed in Los Angeles before making San Diego, California their permanent home. There she
united with Bayview Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Timothy J.
Winters.

Marcia faithfully served 25 years with the San Diego Unified School District. She began as a
playground supervisor at Chollas Elementary and later was promoted to librarian. She also
served at Hancock and Oak Elementary Schools before retiring in 2005. She loved working with
children and touched countless young lives with her kindness and gentle spirit.

Marcia was gifted in many ways. She was an accomplished seamstress who created beautiful and
stylish outfits. She had an extraordinary green thumb and lovingly cared for her houseplants. She
enjoyed word puzzles, designing her own nails with creative flair, watching her favorite game
shows, and cheering on her beloved San Diego Padres.

In April 1981 she was preceded in death by her father Jeff Beach and in July 2009 her beautiful
mother Eunice Beach. She was further preceded in death March 1996 by her beloved sister
Annie Ruth Ellerbee and Feb 2021 brother Sidney Beach. Also, July 2014, she was preceded in
death by her devoted husband, Milton Acey, of 50 years and in December 2014 by her courageous
granddaughter, Tiana Acey. In July 2020, she was also preceded in death by her cherished
daughter, Christine (Chris) Acey..

She leaves to cherish her loving memory:
Her children — Eric Acey; Constance (Connie) Acey and son-in-law Maurice Hillard; Milton
Vincent (Vint) Acey; Angela (Angie) Ethridge and son-in-law Art Ethridge.

Her siblings — Daisy Lou; William Beach and sister-in-law Earlene Beach; and Arthur (AJ)
