Lynn Loman Obituary

Lynn Renee Loman aka “L Nutty”, was born on October 12, 1951 in San Diego, Ca to Mr. E. Loman and Elizabeth Gean Taylor both of San Diego, California.  Lynn was the oldest of four children, which consisted of herself, two brothers and 1 sister.  Lynn grew up in San Diego and attended local elementary and middle schools.  She went on to graduate from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1969.  Lynn went on to have two beautiful children Shani Maisha Crawley and Murad Falawn Walker whom she loved dearly.

After high school, in her early twenties, Lynn was an original member of the “US” organization, which was a black activist group, where she went by the name Saida.  While being a member of this organization, they celebrated the first Kwanza in San Diego.  Lynn went on to pursue a career with Rohr as an assembly woman.  She also worked for Goodwill in San Diego.  Her final career was in the caregiving field for approximately 15 years.  She was a caregiver to many clients.  She had the love and giving heart to take care of others.  She was the type of woman that would give her last.  She loved giving and caring for others whether it was for family, friends or a stranger. She had a great sense of humor, which she was very well known for and could always keep everyone laughing.  Her humor was also non-filtered on many occasions.  She was blunt and just always wanted to tell it like it is.  Lynn was also active in her community.  She loved to volunteer and hang out at the senior activity room in her local community.  You could find her playing bingo, participating in arts and crafts, drinking her coffee and enjoying her time with the other seniors.   One fun fact about Lynn was that she loved her Hip Hop and R&B music, while also having a few celebrity crushes (you may know them, Tank & Tye Dollar Sign).  Lynn loved to cook. Her signature dishes were her famous fried chicken and famous tacos.  Lynn will be greatly missed but leaves behind a lifetime of memories for family, friends and all of those who knew her well, as well as, anyone that ever had the opportunity of being graced with her presence.

Lynn accepted Christ at a young age.  She began her work for Christ as a member at Bayview Baptist Church.  She later went on to become a member of Grace Community Church in 1996 until present under the leadership of Claude F. Eugene Jr.  Lynn had a strong love for Christ, her church and pastor.  She was a dedicated member on the mother’s board.  She was a faithful member of the church, attending and helping out where needed and whenever possible until she fell ill and was no longer able to physically attend.  Lynn continued to praise God despite her not being able to physically attend a church service.  She was a living testimony.  She fought all the way up until the end.

After a 20 year fight, Lynn received her wings on September 27, 2019.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Gean Taylor, great uncle John Leroy Taylor and brother Larry Daniels.

She leaves behind to cherish in her memory, her children: Shani Crawley, Murad Walker; her sister: Twylah Tarkingon; brother: John Miller; her favorite uncle in law and aunt: Rodney Caroll ($100 bill) and Ann Carroll; her uncles: Sammy Taylor, Teddy Taylor; her grandchildren: Rodney Jackson, Jr, Keturah Jackson, Bryshan White and Savaad Walker, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
