Lowell Paul Tucker, Who was a lover of kitties, hens, horticulture, stamps, and family, passed away March 26, 2023 near his home in the San Diego area. The cause was cancer. He was 80.
Lowell was born in Denver on August 16, 1942 to Lawrence Martin Tucker and Louise Lenora (Guerrieri) Tucker. He was the fith of nine children, The family eventualy settled in Riverside (Arlington) by 1947, and after graduating from Notre Dame High School and California State University in San Bernardino with a degree in Spanish, and after sojourns in Hawaii and San Francisco, Lowell made his home in San Diego in the early '70's.
For a time, he held a number of positions at the hotel Del Coronado beginnin as captain of catering, manager of the kitchen staff, and maitre d' of the Crown Room. His desire to work independently led him into carpentry, home renovation, landscape gardening and philately; lately he kept many delighted hours at Henry's Stamp Shop in Mission Hills.
Lowell was a refined and cultured person who endeavored to educate his younger siblings in the finer points of classical arts growing up. He was and excellent bass singer and valued member of the Queen of Angels choir in La Sierra in his youth.
He leaves behind a huge family of brothers, sisters, their mates, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
A mass will be celebrated for Lowell at noon on Friday April 14th at "Queen of Angels Catholic Church (Jones & Wells), in Riverside.
