Leonora Serna Aguinaldo, also known as Nanay, was born on September 12, 1929 in Camiling Tarlac in the Philippines. She grew up in a farming town, helping her brothers and step dad in the fields. When she was a teenager, she worked as a dressmaker in a small couture factory until she moved to Marikina. There, she worked as a caregiver of kids for a family in Manila. There, she met her dear husband Ruperto Aguinaldo, also known as Tatay. They got married in 1951 and later got a house in Parang, Marikina.
Nanay gave birth to a big family, with eight kids: Vio, Adriano, Avelina, Ricardo, Manuel, Jaime, Emilio, and Maria. They were petitioned by Tatay in 1993, becoming US citizens and moved to the states in San Diego, California.
Nanay enjoyed sewing, crocheting, going to the casino, and spending time with family. She is survived by her eight kids, twenty-three grand kids, and nineteen grand kids. She was the matriarch of the family, taking care of almost each and every single one of the Aguinaldo kin. Nanay has left a big impact on many lives and will be dearly missed.
