Kimberly Jan West

Kimberly J. West was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on August 31st, 1958, to Murphy and Ernestine Hayes West, and departed this life on June 14th, 2020, at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California.

Kimberly lived in San Diego, California for nearly 36 years, where she attended South Western College and obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She worked within the field of security and had a part-time position in health care. Kimberly was full of life and enjoyed celebrations with family and friends, outdoor entertainment, and scenic trips to places like Coronado Island, Canada and others. Most importantly, Kimberly was a deeply faithful and devout Christian.

She was preceded in death by her former spouse, Melvin Fields, mother, Ernestine West; and father Murphy West Sr.

Kimberly is survived by her two children Raymaude Fields and Jazzi Fields; five grandchildren; seven siblings: Rosia West-Clark, Sharon (Richard) Sayles, Sheila DeArborne’, Murphy West Jr. (Barbara), Octavia (Earl) Walker, Patricia Parker and Quincy Carr as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
