Kyrishaa was known to many as Double L, and those closest to her called her “LoLLy”. Growing up Kyrishaa always was the life of the party. Dancing became one of her passions. She began dancing early in middle school at O’Farrell in a dance group called “Positive Self Image” (PSI) which she carried throughout her life by teaching positivity, love, and care to her family and friends. She perfected her craft in art of step dancing. Later Khy went on to dance at Serra High School and competed locally in various air band competitions. Dancing allowed Khy to express her feelings. If you knew Khy, you knew her loyalty was never questioned, and she lived by the motto “Real is Rare”. Khy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in her life. Khy loved the Lord that she rededicated her spiritual life under the leadership of Pastor Dr. William A. Benson, Total Deliverance Worship Center.
During Khy’s educational journey she met Andrew Briggs. Immediately after high school Khy gave birth to her first child, Kevion Briggs. Through Andrew and Kyrishaa’s hand made love for each other they raised two children (Kevion and Kaliyah) whom they both adored and loved. The life as Khy once knew was about to change, motherhood became her focal point. Khy strived every day to be the best mother to her children she possibly could. On one special day Khy whispered to her daughter as she cuddled her so tightly “When I had your brother he brought forth better days, but the birth of you made me change my ways, I Love You Both.” Because of Kevion and Kaliyah, Khy found her purpose and her creative gift. LoLLy was the person who you could count on and go to, she was a “ride or die” if you were her friend. She made sure that for all holidays and special occasions was extravagant, and for her community family and friends she hosted spectacular celebratory events. If anyone knew “LoLLy”, she was a no-nonsense person, she was about her business, and there was so much she wanted to do. Khy was preparing to open a culinary business to begin creating specialty cupcakes. Khy will surely be missed by all because she was center of the family. She brought so much joy and laughter even while adjusting to her new life and struggles, she still managed to ensure her family and friends were okay.
Khy was called home way too soon. Although, we know she’s smiling on us. We will miss her delightful sense of humor, her unique laugh that could brighten up any day. Her favorite hobbies included, golfing, dancing, hanging with family and friends, baking, creating celebratory events, and most importantly being a mother to her children. So, let us not forget Khy also enjoyed caring for her siblings and her nephews and nieces as they were her own.
