Joseph Anthony Salvatierra

Joseph Anthony Salvatierra, lovingly known as “Jojo” and “Huero,” passed away on November 6, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on February 20, 1965, in San Diego, California, Jojo spent his early childhood in Oak Harbor, WA; Corpus Christi, TX; and Treasure Island, CA, attending his early elementary school years in San Francisco, CA. Around the age of nine, he became a proud and permanent resident of National City, CA.—a place he always called home.

As a child, Jojo excelled in baseball, football, and track at El Toyon Elementary and National City Junior High. His life was not without struggles, but Jojo faced his challenges with courage and determination, always striving to move forward. He worked hard to stay clean and never stopped trying to better himself.

Jojo will be remembered for his big heart, bright spirit, and the love he shared with those around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved “Nana” Elena Garcia, “Tata” Manuel Garcia, and uncles Richard “Dickie” Garcia and Manuel “Junior” Garcia II. He is survived by his mother Rebecca Peraza; sister Shirley Patino; nephew Jesse Andujo; great-niece Illiana Andujo; great-nephew Josiah Andujo; uncles Alfred Peraza and Robert Peraza and their families; Aunt Elena Plantier and family; and stepsister Irene Rich and family.

Jojo’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
