July 14, 1934 ~ May 24, 2025 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Herman Bray Obituary

On May 24th 2025 the Lord called Herman Floyd Bray SR home to rest. Affectionately called “paw paw” by most was born 7-14-1934 to mom Adella Bray and father Curtis Alexander in Shawnee Oklahoma where Herman attended and graduated from Dunn Bar High then later moved to San Diego, CA where he in-listed in the US navy, proudly serving his country for 20 years receiving good conduct medal 4th award, Vietnam service medal with bronze star and national defense service medal before retiring in 1972 with honorable discharge. He got his first job working at Cook Maintenance Service and his second and last job was Moody Lunch & Service where he stayed for over 20 years. Herman accepted Christ at an early age but when he arrived at his son’s home he didn’t remember being saved so their daughter Jessie made sure it was secured. On June 14th 1958 Herman married the love of his life and honored his vows until she sadly departed and he never re-married, keeping his promise to her. Herman was a good, kind hearted and loving man who would do anything for his family and friends. His hobbies included playing football, drinking, dancing and making everyone laugh. Herman never met a stranger, everyone in his path was a potential friend. On May 24th 2025 God called him home to heaven. He was proceeded in death by his parents Adella Bray, Curtis Alexander, wife Jessie Bray, brother Bennie and sisters Ethel Marie and Edna Faye and sons Paul and James. He leaves behind to cherish his memory twin brother Sherman Bray SR in San Diego CA, Evereece from Las Vegas Nevada, Willie from Oakland CA, Charles from Redland CA, sister Fannie from San Jose CA, 3 sons Herman Bray JR, wife Janet Bray from San Diego CA, Ronald bray, wife Charlotte bray from San Diego CA, John Detrick Bray, wife Rhonda Bray from San Diego CA. 2 daughters Ann Lawson, husband silk from Las Vegas CA, Beatrice Idell watts from San Diego CA, 23 Grandkids, host of great and great great grandkids, nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
