Hattie"Hurricane" Lurene (Bryant) Edwards was born on August 11th,1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Tom and Clotelia Bryant. The family moved to San Diego in 1954 where she began her education at Valencia Park Elementary and graduated a proud Lincoln High School Hornet. There she met Kenneth Edwards Sr. and the couple wed in 1979. The union was blessed with two children. Hattie received Christ at an early age and attended Greater Trinity Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Clyde E Gaines. Hattie had many talents including cosmetology and cooking. She also pursued a career in the medical field and loved her position at Grossmont Hospital. She was an active member of the community and could often be found repping her beloved ?Raiders? or supporting the kids yelling the loudest in the stands. Hattie was known for her generosity and would not hesitate to provide you a safe place to stay or a warm meal. Hattie lived to entertain and have got together with family and friends her ruby red smile and laugh did not compare to her quick wit and infinite snapbacks like, ?What you talking?? or names such as ?Rat Bastard? or ?Monkey ass?! Hattie/ Hurricane was truly a force of nature! She proceeded in death by her parents Tom and Clotelia Bryant. Hattie gained her wings March 21 2021. Her memory will live eternally in the hearts of her children Kenneth Edwards Jr (Galaxy) and Kenya Edwards. Grandchildren Aunjahli Fields and Legacy Edwards and bonus grandchildren Sycari and Savion Russell all of San Diego, CA Aunts Rose Wilson of San Diego, CA and Essie Lincoln(Mendin, La) and life long friend Kenneth Edwards Sr. of San Diego, CA and a host of Beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. . .
