Flordeliza Otero Obituary

Flordeliza Pigao Caseja Otero August 3, 1958 - July 6, 2024 Flordeliza Pigao Caseja Otero, lovingly known as Flor and Liza, passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 3, 1958, in Olongapo City, Philippines, she was a beacon of love and strength to her family and friends. Flordeliza began her career as a nail technician in Olongapo City, where she met her husband, Luis Alberto Otero, during his deployment with the U.S. Navy. They married and moved to Moffett Field, California. Flor first worked at Pacific Bindering. In 1993, the family moved to San Diego when Luis was re-stationed at the North Island Coronado Naval Base. They settled in Mira Mesa, where Flor embraced her Filipino roots and taught her children about their culture. She began working at the United States Postal Service in 1994 and found a supportive community among her colleagues. Flor's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her passion for nurturing those around her. She was a talented cook, known for meals that brought everyone together. Her love for swimming and being outdoors led to many cherished family camping trips and days spent by the water. She found joy in raising her grandchildren and was a constant presence in their lives. She also loved casino trips, shopping, and spending time with her beloved dog, Chovy. Her home was always open to those in need and once you made your way into her inner circle, she treated you like family. Diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in 2018, Flor remained strong and fearless, inspiring those around her. Flordeliza is survived by her husband, Luis Alberto Otero; her children, Kathyrine Aquino, Luis “Jun” Otero III, and Charlotte Otero; her grandchildren, Roman “JR” Aquino III, Leilani Aquino, Raymund Aquino, and Ariana Aquino; her great-grandchildren, Roman "Cuatro" Aquino IV and Amaya Aquino Hernandez; and her siblings, Lilibeth Caseja Prepose, Arnel Caseja, Reynaldo Caseja, and Joseph Caseja. She was predeceased by her parents, Aurora Pigao Caseja and Armando Gigante Caseja. Flordeliza's legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will forever inspire her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
