Eva "Betty" Paclibar Emerson
On Saturday, August 24, 2019, Eva Paclibar Emerson, a loving mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at the age of 84.
Eva was born on June 7, 1935 in Bacolod, Negros Occidental in the Philippines.
She is the daughter of Ceperiano Paclibar and Leonida Alobia and the 2nd youngest
of an extended family of sixteen children. Eva graduated from Aurelio Private School
and taught her passion of dressmaking at Ladislao Diwa School for several years.
Eva immigrated to the United States, married her devoted husband and retired naval officer
James Emerson in 1977, and became a US Citizen in 1983. Jim predeceased Eva on Mothers Day May 14, 2000 and had a Military Burial at Sea. Eva is survived by her only daughter Corazon "Tara" Hranek and Jim's three children Leonard, Celeste and Theresa, many loving grandchildren, and her sister Lolita Paclibar Laid, who has been with her through all of life's trials and tribulations and who was there to comfort her until the very end.
Eva was a homemaker and loved spending time with her husband, her family, fishing, gardening, cooking and sewing, as well as visiting with her long time friends and neighbors. But most of all, she loved her grandchildren and had a fondness of all kids. She had a reputation for being kind, generous and a loving person. She was a devout Catholic and openly shared her faith and prayer with those around her.
