Journey of Life Elton Dennis Anderson, Sr., a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born to Mr. Anderson and Savannah Roots (both of whom preceded him in death) on August 2, 1957, in San Diego, California. During his younger years, Elton worked throughout San Diego. He worked on the Naval Base as a janitor where he met his wife Remedious (aka Remy). The two of them joined their families together. Elton loved his wife and his family. His love wasn’t just words; he put it into action. For nearly ten years, he hosted a family barbeque at Spanish Landing for his birthday month. Several family members would ask what did he need. He would reply, “Just show up. I want all my sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews together.” He was known to find moments to joke around and even give a few nicknames. Elton was full of laughter. He often had a joke especially when you didn’t know it was coming. He shared several memories with his siblings, some earning him nicknames they only knew. Elton enjoyed fishing, eating at the taco shop at the corner of his house, and buying lottery tickets and scratchers. Oh boy! Did he win! He did not hold back on calling about his winnings. Everyone knows, Elton D. Anderson Sr., still looked forward to “hitting it big.” He did just that! He spent time making calls to family and friends to say, “I love you.” He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife of forty years, Remedious Brodin, his son Elton Dennis Anderson, Jr., his daughter Tiffany Holmes, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his sisters Lorraine Johnson, Florenda Thompson, Rosalind Lewis, Rhonda Goode, Lisa Rojas, Jeanette Rose Johnson; his brothers, Jimmy Roots Sr., Willie James Johnson Jr. (June) Lenny Carl Johnson Sr. (Stacey), and Eddie Ray Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and other family members in the United States and the Philippines. He was also loved by those siblings who preceded him in death: Glory Thornton, Jammie Roots Jr., Modesta Roots, Valena Johnson Burkes, Anthony Reed Johnson, David Johnson, and Alfred Christopher Johnson. The family of Elton D. Anderson Sr. wants to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many comforting messages, floral tributes, prayers, and many other expressions of kindness. In Our Heart.
