Dionisio Fernandez Jr. Obituary

Dionisio "Dion" Fernandez was born on April 10, 1954 in Manila, Philippines. He passed away on May 14, 2024, in Spring Valley, CA, after a very sudden decline in his health. Dion was only 70 years of age.

Dion is survived by his devoted partner Aurora Sansano, his five sons Alan, Eric Ford, Cyril, Hans Christian, and Jhensen; and a growing number of offspring, eleven grandchildren, and his namesake great-grandchild in the Philippines; his brothers Jesse, Marlon, Jaydee, and Neil; and his sisters Susan, Liza, and Arlene; and a special friend Cynthia Jacobo in the US. Dion met Aurora during their teenage days, but their lives took them on different paths when he and his siblings moved to San Diego, California in 1986.

Dion will be remembered for his handyman abilities, stylish outfits, his love for music, and his intensity for the life he envisioned and all its opportunities. He loves tinkering with mechanical/electrical/automotive components, an attribute he acquired from his father. During family gatherings, he predominantly shows up fanciful and noticeably attired. Singing was a natural trait, at a very young age, with the aid of a song lyrics publication “Song Hits,” he would spend hours belching out popular songs of the seasons. “My Way” is one notable song; he surely dwelled on an earthly life that was his way. Even towards the end, he found a way to smile and sing while confined at a nursing home. Dion, we love you.
