Born the beloved baby sister of six older siblings in August 1954, Cynthia Knapp (née Martinez) was bound for a life of love and family. The seventh child of Uvaldo C. and Virginia M. Martinez she would never want for love or attention. Cynthia grew up in National City and went on to raise her three daughters- Jessica Yong, Sara Rodriguez and Genobeva Garcia- there too. Making friends everywhere along her life’s path, those blessed enough to know Cynthia, knew of her giving nature, her concern for others, her endearing personality and infectious laugh. On February 5, 2021, when the world is most in need of such people, the world lost a great source of love found in Cynthia. She is pre-deceased by her parents and siblings Maria Valencia and Francisco Martinez. Cynthia is survived by her siblings Uvaldo Martinez, Jr., Paula Martinez, Yolanda Hoffman and Guadalupe Valdez. She also leaves behind her three daughters, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with four expected who will never know the warmth and joy of their great-grandmother.
She will rest in the comfort of the Lord’s grace joining her parents and siblings.
A private family interment will be announced.
