Coral J. Cook, Sr.

    Coral Joseph Cook, Sr. was born October 27, 1930 to his proud parents, Van and Ruby Cook in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a young student, Coral attended Corpus Christi School and Xavier Prep High School. Coral was a caring son who joined the U.S. Military to serve his country with honor and dedication. He then became the loving husband to Claudia Alice Cook and devoted father to Coral Joseph Cook, Jr. (Denise), Janice Sanders (Jerry), Marlene Jackson (Lewis), and Michael Williamson.
Coral attended Delgado Community College to enhance his skills and studies as an electrician. He was an employee with Salem Electrical Company for many years before founding his own lighting company, Master Fluorescent. Later, in his retirement years, Coral worked within a supervisory capacity over maintenance at Le Richelieu Hotel in French Quarter, New Orleans. Coral also served as a devout and faithful deacon at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church for many years while living in New Orleans.
Coral’s favorite hobby was cooking and creating gourmet meals for family and friends. He was a superb chef and everyone loved his delicious recipes. Coral also enjoyed his services as a cook in the U.S. Army.
Coral was well-loved by his family, friends, and community. Coral, also affectionately known as Paw-Paw, has been an adoring and generous father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle during his lifetime. We are forever grateful to God  for blessing us with Coral’s presence and love within our lives. We shall miss him and love him eternally.
