It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Anthony McPeak, a devoted father, loving grandfather, and extraordinary man who touched the lives of so many. Charles passed away on January 3, 2025.
Born on January 23, 1958, in Lansing, Michigan, Charles was the eldest son of Charles McPeak and Bonnie Mae Potter. He was the middle of three siblings and spent his early years embracing life with a natural charisma and tenacity that would define him throughout his life.
Charles excelled in football, a sport that showcased his strength, determination, and leadership. Beyond the field, he embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship, driven by his unwavering commitment to providing for his family. His sacrifices and tireless work ethic left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Charles was known for his intelligence and wisdom, traits that made him a trusted confidant to many. Friends and family often sought his advice, valuing his thoughtful perspectives and sound judgment.
He shared 25 years of marriage with Joanna Alexander, and though their paths diverged, their union brought forth two children who were the light of his life—his eldest son, Troy McPeak, and his daughter, Terese McPeak.
In his later years, Charles found immense joy in rekindling his relationships with his children, ensuring they felt the depth of his love and pride. He cherished every moment spent with his four beautiful grandchildren, who brought boundless happiness and meaning to his days.
Charles will be remembered for his resilience, his generosity, and the love he poured into his family. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and a heart full of love.
Charles is survived by his children, Troy McPeak and Terese McPeak, his beloved grandchildren, and his siblings. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A celebration of Charles's life will be held on February 8, 2025, at California Cremation and Burial in San Diego, California. It is okay to send flowers in his honor—his favorite color was blue.
Rest in peace, Charles. Your love and legacy will forever endure.
