Bruce Lee Harris was born on April 14, 1968, in San Diego, California, welcomed into the loving embrace of Delmas and Elnora Harris. On March 22, 2024, at the age of 56, Bruce passed away due to health complications. Growing up in a nurturing and affectionate household in San Diego, Bruce was the youngest of nine siblings. Known for his heartfelt expressions of love and gratitude, he often brightened the days of his family and friends with cheerful phone calls and heartfelt texts. His contagious laughter and joyful spirit left an enduring imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. A kind and compassionate soul, Bruce was always readyto extend a helping hand, while he was recognized for his generosity and selfless nature. While he did not partake in sports, he found immense joy in uniting people through his exceptional parties. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bruce cherished moments were watching his beloved football team play on Football Sundays. He found solace and happiness in watching his specific TV shows and favorite DVD movies. Remaining close to his San Diego roots throughout his life, Bruce attended Knox Elementary School, Hale Jr. High, and later Morse and Lincoln High Schools, ultimately earning his GED. Commencing his career with The San Diego School District, he touched countless lives over 15 years at various schools including Johnson Elementary, Horton Elementary, Grant Jr. High, Say San Diego, Patrick Henry High School, and culminating at The High School of Performing Arts (SCPA). He also shared his talents with The City of Chula Vista Recreation Centers. After retiring from the San Diego School District due to health reasons, Bruce discovered fulfillment working with The San Diego Padres, where he forged enduring friendships. He treasured moments spent with his nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews, often whisking them away on thrilling adventures to amusement parks such as Belmont Park, Balboa Park, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, and Knott's Berry Farm. Bruce leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, he will be dearly missed by his beloved mother, Elnora Harris(San Diego), and his cherished older sisters: Janet Harris, of San Diego, Shirell Harris (Chicago, IL), Anna Jordan (Raymond Jordan) of San Diego, and Robin Sanford (Eric Sanford) (Las Vegas, NV). Fondly remembering their escapades, inside jokes, and shared nicknames are his older brothers: Delmas Harris Jr., Michael Harris, and David Harris, all residing in San Diego. In addition, Bruce leaves behind his adored nieces and nephews: Nicole Jordan-Carter (Tshombre Carter) of San Diego, Mahogany Harris of (Las Vegas, NV), and Casandra Foster (Kansas City, MO). Michael Harris Jr. (Arizona), Montrell Harris, Demeatrice Harris, Jonathan Harris, Nicholas Jordan, and Anton Vaughn of San Diego,along with his Grand Nieces and Nephews: Minor, Donielle, and Ciara Terrell, Michael III, Mia and, RajuneaHarris, Montrell Jr. and Alya Harris, Katelynn Harris, and Havanna and Harper Harris. He also leaves behind two surviving aunts, Carle Harris-Harper (Tappahannock VA.) and Rosetta Reaves,(Burlington NC.) a multitude of cousins, and dear friends, all touched by his ability to make each person feel cherished and valued. Awaiting Bruce at the gates of Heaven are his beloved Father, Delmas R. Harris, and Sister Rosemary Harris. Although Bruce has departed this world, his memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
