Alex D. Smith

Alex David Smith was born in Wichita, Kansas on May 6, 1988.  He passed away on May 26, 2022.  He leaves behind his Mother, Kathy Hammond, Father, Scott Smith, Stepfather, Mark Hammond, Sister, Robin Fertner, Brother-in-law, Erik Fertner, Nephews, Leif and Viktor Fertner, Aunt Pam Paul, Aunt and Uncle, Mark and Karen Hughes, Grandmother, Phyllis Hughes, Great Aunt, Kay Johnson, Cousins, Jennifer Clark and Lisa Wheeler, Stepsisters, Andrea Richards and Sara Woodall, Stepbrother, Lucas Hammond. Best friend Anthony Vanzant.

He was predeceased by his Grandfathers, John Hughes and Dale Smith.  Grandmother Wanda Smith

Alex was a loving and generous soul who will be greatly missed.  He had many challenges in his life and made many debatable decisions, but he remained a free spirit who touched countless lives.  He deeply cared about his family and his friends and would happily give you everything he had if he thought you needed it.  The words don’t exist to truly describe him.  He was unique from the very beginning.  We often asked, “What color is the sky in your world?”  If anyone was dealing with concerns in their lives or just needed someone to talk to, he was there.  He would want us to remember the good times and always take the time to be there for anyone in need of a friend.

Sleep well Alex.  We will love and miss you always.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Fall.
