With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Adelaida Aguilo Manaig announces her passing.
Born and raised in La Paz, San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines, Adelaida carried the warmth, resilience, and close-knit spirit of her hometown throughout her life. While working at the U.S. Naval Base in San Miguel, she met her beloved husband, Victor Manaig, and together they were blessed with five children.
Adelaida lived briefly in Hawaii before making San Diego, California, her longtime home. A woman of very deep faith, she was a devoted and active parishioner of Saint John's of the Cross Catholic Church in Lemon Grove, where she found strength, purpose, and community.
Entrepreneurial and engaged in the community, Adelaida managed her own rice mill and store in the Philippines and also served as a Barangay Captain of East Dirita in San Antonio Zambales. She later operated an adult residential facility in San Diego, offering dignity, care, and kindness to those she served. At home, she loved to garden and cook, filling her days with simple joys and her home with the comforting aromas of her specialty meals shared with family.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, her generosity, and the gentle strength with which she lived her life.
Adelaida was predeceased by her husband, Victor, in 2018. She is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, and twin great-granddaughters, who will forever cherish her legacy of faith, service, and love.
May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her.
