Nena Catigtig de Leon, 73 years old, of San Diego, California, peacefully returned to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 after her battle with Colon cancer. She was born on May 15th, 1946, in the province of Cebu, Philippines.
Nena was well-known in her town in Gen. T. de Leon, Valenzuela City as “Aling Nena”. She owned a sari-sari store, enjoyed sewing, and making delicious Filipino desserts such as Biko, Suman (sweet rice cake), Ube Halaya (sweet mashed purple yam) and many more. She enjoyed singing and dancing along to Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra’s songs.
Nena lived a simple, but happy life. She always cared about the well-being of her family.
Nena is survived by her husband, Ricardo de Leon; her sons Ronnie Tuyor, Rogelito Tuyor, and Enrico de Leon; her daughters Gina de Leon Nierras, and Evelyn de Leon Perez; her sons-in-law, AJ Nierras and Leo Perez, daughters-in law, Luz Tuyor, Belen Tuyor, and Mercy Tuyor; and grandkids, JR, Rosallie, Ronnel, Gabriel, Michael, Tricia, Daniel, Leah, Leilah, Ellie, Joshua, and Jericho. She was predeceased by her oldest sons, Rogelio Tuyor, and Rolando Tuyor.
Memorial service will be held between 4:30 to 9 PM on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at California Cremation and Burial Chapel, 5880 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA 92115.
