On June 1, 1941 in the city of Galveston, Texas, Alberta and Houston Yoakum became the proud parents of their first born of four children, Lillie Mae. Lillie is preceded in death by her father Houston, mother Alberta, step-father Wilbert, daughter Frances and grandson Wayne Jr. In 1955 Alberta relocated the family to the City of San Diego. In 1956 the family began worshiping at Greater Trinity Baptist Church. Four years later, Lillie was baptized by Rev. George James Phillip Washington. She loved to Usher. Trinity remained her church home until her passing. After graduating high school Lillie followed her dream and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked for Sharp Memorial Hospital and Kaiser Permanente. Due to health challenges, after 34 years of service with Kaiser, she retired. Lillie was a very strong woman who survived both breast cancer and a brain tumor. Lillie was an avid reader, she would read a book a day! In her pass time, she also enjoyed sitting in her comfortable chair watching her favorite shows, QVC and HSN, shopping.
