Jose Luis Ibarra Hastie

Friend, son and brother, Jose Luis Ibarra Hastie passed away on the morning of Sunday December 8, 2019.

Jose was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico on November 20, 1989.  Growing up in San Diego, CA, he attended Valhalla High School ('08) and later went on to graduate from Paul Mitchell's School as a hair and makeup stylist.  Jose will be remembered for his generosity, especially to those less fortunate; his outgoing and wild sprit that could bring light to the dark days and his resilience despite life's obstacles. Jose made friends throughout his lifetime with ease and cherished every one of them. A close second to the people he loved were his animals, whom he adored.  Jose also had a love of good food, making up creative nicknames, time at the beach and leading adventures with laughter and a bit of mischievousness.

He is preceded in death by his Aunt Patricia Hastie Cuadra. He is survived by his mother, Monica Hastie Cuadra and father, Jose Luis Ibarra Gomez; his aunt, Michelle Walashek and uncle, Scott Riddick; his sisters Brett Boeh Bergmann and Kate Boeh; as well as his many other family members, chosen family and friends.

A man of inestimable energy, a generous heart and a loving sprit, Jose was a dear friend to many, a faithful son and a protector of his young sisters. His infectious laughter reflected a deep and abiding gratitude for life and serves as a reminder to live your truth fully and joyfully.
