Joel Gregg

Joel Gregg, better known by family and friends was Joe Joe was born to Joe Gregg and Cleve Smith on October  16, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA. Joel was educated in the Philadelphia city school system before joining the US Army November 1, 1966 and  servered 3 years until being honorably discharged February 24, 1969. After being discharged, Joe Joe was trained and employeed by the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller until retirement in 1998. After his well deserved retirement Joe Joe began to volunteer in earnest on behalf of all veterans he came in contact with.

Joel is survived by his wife Linda M. Gregg, children Joel Horton and Dana Gregg, eight grandchildren Kimberly Horton, Jasmine Lopez, Samaya Horton, Marquita Horton, Caleb Osuigwe, Cayla Osuigwe, Bailey Osuigwe, Sasha Osuigwe, three great grandchildren Samaj Williams, Roger Dimas-Ingrum and Tlalli Sanchez. Brothers Monty Gregg, Edwin Gregg sister Charmaine Gregg and a host of family and friends. Joe Joe was proceeded in death by both parents Joe Gregg, Cleve Smith one brother Dwight Gregg one sister Toni Burgess.

Surely all who knew Joe Joe knew he was about being on time and keeping to plans, we all have many memories of how outspoken he was about his time. On one such occasion on a family trip to Disney World, our group moved too slowly for his liking with some strong words and what I'm sure what he wanted to be a bang of the concierge villa door he was off.  He went off to Animal Kingdom without us and rode the best rides in the park, unbeknowst to him the last one was a water ride. Not an hour later, he was back soaking wet and with squishy shoes. Imagine the sound of squishy leather sneakers!

Joe Joe was called home on June 17, 2019 to rest in peace. We would like to thank you all for your love and support.
