Fernando “Totoy” Pangco, 75, of San Diego, California died from heart failure at Cardio Vascular Center, UCSD La Jolla at 1:25 am on January 2, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 18, 1943 in Noveleta, Cavite, Philippines. Son to the late Leon and Juana Pangco.
Fernando is survived by his wife Cecilia of 47 years, sons Glenn, Roy, and Jeffrey, sisters Lydia and Adelia, brother Eddie, daughter’s in laws Arlene, Sheila and Yen, and grandchildren MJ, Ariana and Jilian and many loving nephews and nieces. Fernando was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
Fernando loved sports, especially baseball, where his favorite team was the San Diego, Padres. He worked as a Machinist for over 20 years at the Ship Repair Facility, U.S. Naval Base, Subic, Philippines. He also worked as a Pipe Fitter/Welder at NASSCO/General Dynamics from 1990 – 2005 in San Diego, Ca. He spent his free time watching various sports games live on TV and Pinoy Teleseryes.
A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of ICU CVC UCSD, La Jolla, Sharp Chula Vista, and ER Paradise Valley National City for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards California Burial Chapel for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time. The whole family also would like to say Thank You to all the sympathies, prayers and support from all their relatives and friends during this difficult time.
