Eutequio Acibar Obituary

This world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

Hebrews 13:14

Eutequio Lucban Acibar also known as “Tatay”  was a giving, loving and humble man. He was always known for being a man who would give everything he had.

A man as humble and loving as Tay will always be remembered and never forgotten. He has touched so many lives in his life. Although we will miss him, his smile, his laugh, his love, we will always remember the memories we had with him.

Tatay was born on March 14, 1932 - October 31, 2019. He was 87 years old when he left this world and entered into Heaven. Through his career he was in the Philippines as a Seaman, Electrical Engineer and travelled all around the world. He knew different languages, English, Tagalog, Japanese and Spanish by learning on his own as he traveled for work. He was married to Concepcion Castro Acibar for 62 years. They had three children, Edna Acibar Francia, Merilou Acibar Manalac and Joseph Castro Acibar.

His children remembered him as the “Provider” he would always provide for the family and made sure his children all attended college. He told them to strive hard and finish school so that they can have a better life. They also said that Tay would provide them anything that they needed. Merilou said that there was always food on the table because of Tay. Joseph said he was the perfect dad, always showed and taught love to his children. Edna said that he was a giver and would give all he had to his family.

Tatay and his wife, Nanay arrived to America in 1996 to help take care of the family and lived with Merilou Acibar for almost 30 years. Tatay’s first job in America was a TSA at the Traffic Situation Display. From then on he enjoyed time with his kids and grandkids. His death was a natural death from high blood pressure and anemia.

Tay always felt his family made him feel young and happy. He was a great teacher to have, not only for my family and us, but also for everybody. He was selfless and kind. He was an amazing parent and grandparent.
