Eric Franklin

Eric Franklin 57 of San Diego, CA was called home on June 27th, 2019 surrounded by his daughters and son in law.  He was born to parents William Franklin Sr. and Lula Merriweather on July 15, 1962 in San Diego, CA. He Graduated from Clairemont Highschool.

Eric is survived by children Tamekia Newman, Lena Buckner, Erica Franklin, Eric Franklin and Lashawna Franklin, a host of grandchildren, His wife Bettie Franklin and his siblings, Norma Franklin, William Franklin Jr. Michelle Franklin and husband Steve Deloatch, Gary Franklin, Jefferey Franklin and Fred Bonner. Eric was predeceased by his parents William franklin, and Lula Merriweather, his siblings Patrick, Ronnie, Gloria and Barbara Franklin and his Grandchildren Thurgood Elijah Marshall III, Ariyana Marie Lynn Daniel.

Eric was known for his infectious smile and the ability to spark conversation with anyone. He enjoyed meeting people and dint hesitate to be his authentic self. He was loving and caring and would give whatever he could. With Erics family having Roots in Texas, he enjoyed country vibes and had a passion for western themes, He had a favorite pair of Cowboy boots and you could see him wearing his hat in many of his pictures. He was especially fond of his grandchildren, while he adored them he was also stern with them and you can still hear his voice today saying “Do you want me to get Geroge” His famous leather belt that was used to apply pressure to keep the children intact. While you think he would have been a musician based on his passion for music. He certainly loved to hear a tune that would make him groove. Many people that came across Eric just thought he was hilarious. Constantly telling jokes and as well call it sometimes clowning around.
