Delores Lee Woods was born July 15, 1954 to parents Eddie Lee Woods and Willie Hue Woods in San Diego, CA. She was the fifth of five children. She attended Memorial Jr. High, San Diego High School and Lincoln High School’s ROP nursing program, where she graduated with honors. Her childhood was filled with an abundance of love from both sides of the family.
Later in life, Delores went on to become a Teacher’s Aide at Stockton Elementary School, shaping young minds and teaching kids great values. She always wanted to help people and her love and devotion was everlasting, especially for her children. Her aura was amazing, and anyone that knew her can attest to that. Delores accepted Christ at an early age.
She is preceded in death by her mother Eddie Lee Woods, her father Willie Hue Woods and her brothers Oscar Waco Thrower and Andrew White and her sisters Euradell Johnson and Henrietta George.
On Monday, June 10, 2019 at 4:49am, Delores received her wings. She leaves behind her sisters Barbara Sam, Frances Woods-Collins, Valarie Daniels and Jessie Ray Brown and brothers Henry Woods and Thomas George. Her children Ta-Tanisha King, Rashon Selmon and Michael Whyte, Jr. Grandchildren Ti’Aundra Wells, Elton Wilson, Jr., Emonte Tucker, Micayla Whyte, Zaire Wallace, Mariah Whyte and Michaelle Whyte. She was even blessed to see her great grandchildren Elton Wilson, III, Taelyn Pratt, Exavier Wilson and Eilani Wilson, earning her the name GG (Great Grandma) and establishing four generations in our family. She is definitely in heaven, watching and guarding over all of us. I’m pretty sure if you take the time to notice, she will show you a sign. Every time you look in the sky and see a full moon, think of our Angel.
