Damien Lamar Murray

Damien Lamar Murray was born in Oakland, California on July 1st, 1988 to Petrina Smith and Leroy Thompson, Jr.  Damien’s mother first called him "Squeaky" due to his quite nature, then later in life affectionately referred to him as "Baby Boy".

Damien received most of his education in Fresno, California where he graduated from Sierra Charter High School. He attended Southwestern College in San Diego, California for two years.  While in Fresno, Damien, was reared in a loving Christian home, with strong family values instilled by his grandmother Gussie Smith, mother Petrina Smith and both of his aunts Edna Miller and Brenda Smith.

Damien spent his professional life as a Security Guard and EVS Worker.  He worked for Goodwill Industries and Allied Universal of San Diego.  He worked for Goodwill for 7 years and Allied Universal for 3 years. Although Damien suffered with a medical illness since he was a little boy, he never let it stop him from success.   He loved to work, and was a great hard worker. 

Damien was dedicated to his family and was very active in everyone's lives. He is the Second or Middle Baby to his eldest brother (the one to lean and depend on) and sister (best friend ever).  He had a close brotherly relationship with his first cousins Carmichael Grayson and Justin Miller.  He loved to party and always looked forward to his birthdays.  He would have fun with any and every one he came in contact with.

Damien had a free loving kind spirit and to know him, you could not help but to love him.

Damien is survived by his mother Petrina Smith-Reiner, step-father Johnathan Reiner; brother Dwayne Thompson, sister Kristina Smith;  aunts Edna Miller, Brenda Smith; first cousins Carmichael Grayson, Justin Miller; nieces Trina R. and Kamiel N, Smith; three step-sisters Kiera Rener, Lanat Rener, Macie Rener, one great aunt, three great uncles and a host of cousins, in-laws, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Leroy Thompson, Jr; grandmother Gussie Ruth Smith; great grandparents Wilma Lee and Raymond F. Richardson.
