Augusta Johnson Jr Obituary

Born Augusta Johnson Jr., Monroe, Louisiana on January 15, 1935, to Sis.  Bertha Theus and Augusta Johnson Sir. He was the oldest of five children and the only boy. He attended public school in Monroe, Louisiana and graduated, then join the Navy. 

In 1953, Augusta married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Johnson, and moved to San Diego, California. Five children were born to that union, one son and four daughters. Due to their love and compassion for children, a fifth daughter was adopted in 1973, further expanding the Johnson family. 

Gus was a quiet and private person. He spoke his mind with certain family members, friends, and co-workers. 

He was employed with the San Diego Police Department for over 40 years until his retirement in 2018. He also served his duty in the navy in 1954. Gus was an outgoing person, who loved his family and also the horses  tracks. He also loved the dog races. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Johnson, Ex-Wife Betty Johnson Huff, Father, Augusta Johnson Sir., Mother, Sis. Bertha Theus, Step-Daughter Blanca Vega 

On July 2nd, 2019, god sent his angel to deliver a pair of wings fitted just for Gus to join him in his eternally heavenly home. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Keith Johnson, Fort worth, TX, Daughters, Deborah Lover, Yuma, AZ, Patrice Bailey Calvin, San Diego, Cynthia Anderson Murrieta, Ca, Deanna Johnson, San Diego, CA, Step-Son, Carlos Vega, Tijuana, MX, Sister, Shirley Johnson Lane of Dallas TX, and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great- great- grandchildren, other relatives, and friends
