Aaliyah Sharmillah Pender

Aaliyah Sharmillah Pender was born Sunday, July 9, 1978 in San Diego, California to Frederic Pender and Shelia Burks. She was a resident of San Diego for 40 years.

            Aaliyah's last days were spent surrounded by family, as she departed this earth on Saturday May 18, 2019, at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California after a short illness.

            Aaliyah was never married, spent her time going to classes and graduated from Crawford High School in San Diego, Ca. And attended a Easter Seal program.  Aaliyah, loved her coach, Ms. Linda, who picked up Aaliyah for classes, and loved Aaliyah very much, as well as all who knew Aaliyah.

            Aaliyah, enjoyed long car rides and trips to the parks and beaches. Aaliyah, was strong physically and in spirit, and did not like to be told "no"; she love to do things her way.

            When Aaliyah was younger, 15 years or so, and in poor health, the Doctors told her she would not live long; Aaliyah raised one eyebrow and went on for another twenty five years proving to those Doctors her strong will and spirit.

             Aaliyah, was preceded in death by a host of Aunts, cousins, Grand parents, and Uncles. To cherish her memory Aaliyah, leaves behind her parents, Brother, Allah J. , Hille, caregiver and nephew, Brandon M. Hille and a host relatives, family and friends.

Aaliyah, we all love and miss you so much,you were a light in all of our lives.
