Lanisha Chanel Hill

Lanisha Chanel Hill was born a beautiful baby girl on December 31, 1986, along with her beautiful twin sister, Terrisha Michelle Hill, to Devette Lanae Richardson (mother) and Terry Andre Hill (father) in San Diego, California at UCSD Medical Hospital. Lanisha and her sister were born prematurely and fought to survive in the hospital for two (2) months after their birth. They left the hospital strong and healthy in the care of their parents. At 6 years-old, Lanisha and her sister were adopted by their paternal grandmother, Cinda Mae Hill, fondly known as “Mae Mae”. Mae Mae was a loving, caring and naturing grandmother. She loved Lanisha and her twin sister very much. She enjoyed taking care of them, dressing them in matching outfits and cooking their favorite meals. We all thought they were spoiled, especially Lanisha.

As a child, Lanisha was a loving, caring and free spirited little girl. She was witty, funny and liked to tell jokes. She loved to dance, wear pretty dresses and play with her sister and cousins. She enjoyed outdoor activities, helping others and styling her hair. Her dream was to be a hair stylist for celebrities. Her favorite colors were neon green, pink and orange. She loved animals. Her favorite animal was the koala bear.

Lanisha’s grandmother raised her in the church. She was a member of New Creation Church of San Diego under the leadership of Pastor Reginald L. Gary. Lanisha attended children’s church, sang in the Little Lambs Children Choir, the Youth Choir and participated in other church activities. She even got a chance to direct the Little Lambs Choir on Children’s Day when she was 12. She enjoyed fellowshipping with all her Christian friends.

Lanisha completed her formal education in Spring Valley, CA. She attended Bancroft Elementary School, La Presa Middle School and Monte Vista High School. She graduated from High School in June of 2005. After high school, Lanisha went to Cosmetology School but never got a chance to fulfill her dream of being a hair stylist. She worked at various service jobs in her adult life. Her last job was at Dreams for Change where she worked as a Peer Advocate.

Lanisha passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2024. She gained her wings and went to be with the Lord. To honor her memory and celebrate her life, services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at California Burial Chapel in National City. Public viewing is from 10am-11am. Funeral Services are from 11am-1pm. Her final resting place will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, scheduled at 2pm on April 26, 2024.
